National Decision Day is a day to celebrate the culmination of hard work and determination for high school seniors who have made their final decision about which college or university to attend. This year our seniors had a chance to proudly announce their choice and share their excitement with the school community! El Día Nacional de la Decisión es un día para celebrar la culminación del trabajo arduo y la determinación de los estudiantes de último año de secundaria que han tomado su decisión final sobre a qué colegio o universidad asistir. ¡Este año, nuestros estudiantes del último año tuvieron la oportunidad de anunciar con orgullo su elección y compartir su entusiasmo con la comunidad escolar! The Bright Project is a 6-week summer program that is in collaboration between Code Nation, the International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), and the Gray Matter Experience and it is designed to build relevant and real-world skills in STEM and entrepreneurship. The Bright Project exposes students to a real industry challenge, in-depth coding experience, and business and entrepreneurial models to prepare them for their future goals! All students who participate will receive travel support if needed and will receive a stipend upon completion of the program.
Program logistics:
The program runs June 26th - August 4th, Monday through Friday (with the exception of July 3rd and 4th)
Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
2-3 days will be in person at a location downtown and the rest will be virtual
Note: Student must be a rising 10th-12th grader to apply
All participants of the Bright Project will receive a financial stipend of at least $300 upon completion of the program. To apply for the Code Nation Bright Project, please complete this application.

The Illinois Resource Center, in cooperation with the Illinois State Board of Education-Multilingual Department, is proud to present the Seventeenth Annual Statewide Summit for Bilingual Parents: A Conference for members of Bilingual Parent Advisory Councils (BPAC) and parents of English Learners (ELs). Throughout the day, conference presenters will address various important topics to help BPAC members in their roles and responsibilities.

Have you activated your CPS Parent Portal account? Do you need assistance with logging into your Parent Portal account? The CPS Parent Portal is a convenient way to check your student’s grade, attendance and establish a line of communication with teachers. Parents who utilize the portal can set up email and text message alerts about their student’s grade and attendance. Parents can email Assistant Principal Walker at slwalker@cps.edu to get support with your accessing Parent Portal accounts.
