Each month, we will send out this newsletter to keep you informed about programs at Open Cupboard (formally Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf) as well as other important programs and reminders. 

Delay in New Site

Last month we announced that our Today's Harvest Oakdale North (Hadley Ave N) would be moving. While that is still the plan, unfortunately, we hit a last-minute issue with the location we'd planned to lease. That means that for now, the new site is on hold. Our goal is still to create a store on the East Side of St. Paul/Maplewood - it just might take a little longer. However, we will have to close our Today's Harvest Oakdale North location at the end of May. 

May 26th will be the last day Today's Harvest at Hadley Ave N will be open. 

Our Today's Harvest market at 8264 4th St N, Oakdale will still remain open. To help us serve more shoppers at the 4th St market, we will be temporarily changing our shopping hours. 

We will be open for these new temporary hours starting May 30th.

Please be patient with us during this time of change. We will keep you updated on changes and we hope to have good news soon! 

Hope Dental is the largest free dental clinic in Minnesota. They provide exams, fillings, cleanings, extractions, sealants, and dental education. 

While no one is turned away for their inability to pay, Hope Dental collects a $20 administration fee for every appointment and encourages everyone to pay as much as they are able (anything above $20 is considered a donation and is tax-deductible).

Farmers' Markets

Farmer's Markets are starting up again--providing local, fresh, healthy food. Did you know that Saint Paul Farmers' Markets accept EBT (SNAP Benefits) and FMNP (farmers market nutrition programs at their 18 markets across the metro area?

If you use EBT, you can stop at the information table/tent at any market, and they will charge your EBT card and give you tokens that you can use to purchase food from sellers. Additionally, the market can match up to $10 in EBT and provide $10 in Market Bucks and Produce Bucks.

Head Start is a free program for eligible families for children from prenatal to five years old. 

They serve Anoka, Washington, and Ramsey County families. They provide high-quality early learning programs for children. 


Program Highlights:
-Free healthy meals and snacks
-Highly qualified teachers
-Head Start 4 day school week for 3 to 5 year olds--includes toilet training---part-year and full year options
-Early Head Start program for pregnant women and children birth-3 years of age

Families are automatically eligible if they meet at least one of the following:
-Receiving Public Assistance (SNAP, MFIP cash assistance, or SSI)
-Foster Care family
-Experiencing homelessness or lack fixed, regular, and adequate housing
-Living at or below the current Federal Poverty Guideline
