May 7 - No Forum
May 14 and 21:
Speaker: Dr. Margaret Wehrenberg, author of 11 books on overcoming anxiety and depression and past speaker at the Adult Forum at Bethel.
Topic: “Achieving Emotional Strength in Traumatic Times”
Both the Covid pandemic and the 24/7 exposure to various kinds of turmoil in the world can cause a sense of loss, loneliness, depression or anxiety for people of all ages.
In these two sessions, Dr. Wehrenberg will lead us in discussions about these issues and will suggest ways to deal with them in order to strengthen both ourselves and others.
Note: This is last Sunday morning Adult Forum until fall.
MOTHERS DAY DIAPER DRIVE!
Our Mothers Day Diaper Drive is going strong! Please help us collect 2,000 diapers for the households in our area in need.
- Rumor has it that we’ve collected over 1,000 diapers so far, and still have a week and a half to reach our goal.
- 70% of parents who get diapers from the Diaper Bank report leaving their child in soiled diapers longer than they want, in order to make small diaper supply last longer.
- Pullups and the larger diaper sizes (4, 5 and 6) are the most-needed, but all sizes are accepted, including open packages of clean (unused) diapers. Wipes are accepted, too!
Albuquerque Service Learning Trip
Have you seen the large red and yellow wall display? If you haven't, you can find it inside the main church entrance.
A team of 12 Bethel members and friends are Albuquerque bound this summer to provide service to the community through Service Learning Camps. The cost is about $1500 per person which includes (lodging, car rental, transportation, meals and Service Learning Camp fees).
Stop by before or after church and a team member will be available in the Narthex to answer questions about where they are going and some potential projects they will work on while in Albuquerque.
- This fundraiser is easy to participate in.
- There are envelopes with a donation amount.
- Choose an envelope. Place that amount or more in the envelope.
- Fill out the information on the back of the envelope.
- On the check made to Bethel Lutheran Church, note: "Service Trips" on the memo line.
- Place the envelope in the offering plate or you may hand it to a team member.
- Online giving is now available with Vanco. Use the Service Trips found on the main page. https://secure.myvanco.com/YNAQ/campaign/C-13MDB

Weekly Hospitality
Hosting after-service hospitality is a great way to serve the congregation (literally) and to encourage fellowship. We have plates, cups and napkins. We also keep ice and lemonade mix available. You just bring your favorite snacks! There is a paper sign-up form on a clipboard in the trays in the back of the narthex (southeast corner). You can also sign up online here or by calling Anna in the Bethel office.
