Art and music have forever influenced each other. Saint-Saens tone poem, Danse Macabre, raises the curtain followed by music by current star composer, Grammy nominated and Emmy award-winning, Adam Schoenberg. His extremely popular Finding Rothko is influenced by four Mark Rothko paintings and has varied orchestral sounds, from spacious harmonies to romantic melodies. The season climaxes with the most famous of art influenced works for orchestra. Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition was inspired by the paintings of his close friend, Viktor Hartmann, an artist who died tragically of an aneurism in 1873 at the age of 39.
Enjoy a special pre-concert Exhibition “A Picture is Worth 1,000 Notes” with artists Sergio De Giusti, Robert Gniewek, Robert Schefman, Liz Frankland at the Padzieski Gallery. No tickets required for concert pre-glow.
Concert pre-glow sponsored by Dearborn Community Fund, Padzieski Gallery and the Dearborn Symphony. Visit the gallery at www.padzieskigallery.org.
