It's National Volunteer Week!

When it comes to our volunteers, we have a lot to celebrate. Our wonderful volunteers are passionate, driven, and generous in sharing their knowledge and time to help make the Robin Boyd Foundation what it is today.
We thank our Board, Boyd Circle Representative GroupRBF Guides, Research and Collections Team, Digital Team, DADo Curatorial Team, Design Matters guest speakers and the many design leaders who volunteer their expertise with the Robin Boyd Foundation. The Robin Boyd Foundation has been incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated team of current and former volunteers whose efforts we deeply appreciate. We would now like to bring some attention to some of the volunteers that are at the centre of the Robin Boyd Foundation community.

Our Walsh Street Guided Tour team is led by Stuart Tolliday, who is not only an exceptional presenter, but is involved in tour development, research, and training of new volunteers (amongst many other aspects of RBF!). Stuart has a particular ability to capture and share the wonder of Robin and Walsh Street to our visitors, volunteers and staff, and we thank him dearly. Thank you to all RBF Volunteers who help with our tours, with a special shout-out to Leonie Beaton, Vicki Davies, Pam Seears, Glen McIntyre, Lucy Heath, Andrea Dudley, Danuta Freeman and Corinna Orscheg who are regularly representing the Foundation in the most wonderful way.

The Research and Collections team is led by Kerry Landman. In 2022 Kerry won the AMaGA Victoria Martin Hallett Award for individual contributions to community heritage in recognition of her excellent leadership and commitment to the RBF Research and Collections team. She has overseen the digitisation of the Walsh Street Archive and managed the Robin Boyd Foundation's collection, which is an invaluable resource to the Foundation. We thank Kerry, Jonathan Russell, and the greater Collections team for their immense effort and project success. The Research and Collections team has achieved so much in developing the Walsh Street Archive, allowing access and important heritage research to take place.

Our Digital Team is led by Tim Isaacson and Jonathan Russell, who have travelled far and wide to capture and produce fantastic video content including interviews and 3D Tours accessible via our Digital Page. Since 2020, our Digital programming has become an important resource produced by the Robin Boyd Foundation in sharing significant histories of Australian architecture and design, and is possible thanks to the fabulous work of Tim and Jono.

This year the DADo Film Society this year is led by Thandi Lane, Rebecca Roke and Andrew MacKinnon.
They are continuing the long tradition of former DADo volunteers in curating a fabulous program of thought-provoking films and insightful guest speakers focussed on architecture and design. We thank them for their wonderful work and look forward to the next screening!

A special thank you to Amanda Oliver and Michael Ellis who provide ongoing support to maintain the beautiful landscaping at Walsh Street. We also thank the many volunteers to come to our Working Bees to keep Boyd House II in wonderful shape.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who helped us deliver the Design Matters on Campus Symposium, the AIA Open Day, Open House Melbourne and Nightingale Village Open Day last year. Robin Boyd Foundation acknowledges the Traditional Owners on whose unceded lands we work, gather and engage. We pay respects to Elders, past and present and to all First Nations people.

We are custodians of the legacy of Robin Boyd and the iconic Walsh Street house that he designed, built, and inhabited. Inspired by Boyd, our purpose is to provoke and lead fearless dialogue on Australian architecture and design.
