Sunday Adult Formation in Easter Season: Faith and the Visual Arts
9:30-10:15, library and on Zoom, beginning April 16
Artistic images express things that words alone cannot. They evoke feelings. They inspire. They ‘move’ people. They draw us beyond the ordinary and the mundane, and put us in touch with the Divine. Christianity has long recognized this, and made the Arts and Beauty integral to the life of the Church.
This week: Open Conversation on the Visual Arts in our life of faith
What difference does the experience of Beauty make in your life? What role do the Visual Arts (and other artistic expressions) play in your worship experience? How do the Visual Arts influence your experience of God (and vice versa)? If you are involved in creating art, why is that important to you? Does your own creativity provide any insights into understanding the created world, and God as Creator? Join us this Sunday and share in the conversation regarding these and other issues related to how the Visual Arts influence you and your faith.
This Easter Season we will have a special guest join us each Sunday at the Youth Room Coffee Bar to share their story. Each guest will share their story, highlight their career path, and discuss how faith influences their work. Plan to attend each week for a chance to get to know different St. Thomas Parishioners and learn about exciting possible pathways for your future. Thanks to Joanna & Evan Collins for sharing yesterday. We look forward to hearing from Malinda Shamburger  this week.

The Federal Public Health Emergency for Covid-19 ends this week. We pray for health care providers.

Give your blessing, gracious God, to those whom you have called to the study and practice of the arts of healing, and the prevention of disease and pain. Give them the wisdom of your Holy Spirit, that through their work the health of our community may be advanced and your creation glorified; through your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
