Savannah River Cyber Summit


“Partnerships between universities, research institutions, and government agencies are essential for driving innovation and making a positive impact on society.”


The 2023 Savannah River Cyber Summit was a resounding success, bringing together experts in cybersecurity from industry, government, and academia to discuss the latest trends and solutions in the field. The summit featured keynote speeches from top cybersecurity leaders, as well as panel discussions and interactive workshops.


One of the key themes of the summit was the importance of collaboration and information sharing among organizations and across sectors to combat cyber threats. Speakers emphasized the need for greater cooperation between government and private sector entities to create a more comprehensive and effective approach to cybersecurity.


The summit also highlighted the latest cybersecurity technologies and innovations, with demonstrations of cutting-edge tools and software for threat detection, incident response, and risk management. Attendees had the opportunity to network with industry leaders and learn from experts in a wide range of fields.


The University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA), the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL), and the South Carolina National Guard (SCNG) have formed a unique partnership that combines their expertise, resources, and capabilities to benefit the local community and the state.


The anchor of the event was a panel discussion which featured representatives from USCA, SRNL, and SCNG sharing their experiences and insights into the collaboration as well as the challenges faced and how they have overcame them.


The Summit also hosted the Annual CyberSC Awards of Excellence for Industry, Academia, Government and Leadership.  Go HERE to see the awards photos.


The M’Aiken Magic Robotics Team, recently back from the World Championships, presented to attendees on their journey and demonstrated their robot, “The Sheriff”.  The Team was presented with a $250 donation check from CyberSC.


Overall, the 2023 Savannah River Cyber Summit was a successful event that brought together a diverse group of cybersecurity professionals to share ideas and best practices. The summit highlighted the importance of collaboration, technology, and human factors in combating cyber threats, and provided attendees with valuable insights and networking opportunities.
