Worship with Central on this Youth Sunday, May 14, 2023

On this bright morning we heard special music from our organist Steve McCullough, violinist David Nwalado, our choir and pianists Ethan Kershaw, Colby Ellison, Charlie Conner and Anna Thompson.

Rowyn Holder assisted. Theo Conner read Psalm 23. In the Children’s Lesson, Faith Ellison asked the children about what relationships they have in their life. She encouraged them to have a relationship with God. The youth honored mothers on Mother’s Day with flowers. Henry Conner read from James 5.  Mackenzie Racop read from I Corinthians 12.

Maxine Bough read from I Corinthians 13. In her sermon “Relationships Change” Maxine reflected on relationships as she nears graduation from high school. She talked about family, church family, and friends. She particularly cherished her time with the bazaar ladies when she was 9 years old when they taught her to knit, something she recently picked up again. Maxine mentioned the special care from many teachers over the years – a major reason she is going into teaching as a career. She urged all of us to remember the relationships with have with our church family, our friends and with God.

We welcomed Unity Presbyterian Church to this joint worship service on Youth Sunday. The baptism of Solomon Tilstra-Ferrell took place today on Mother’s Day.
