Daily Bread Devotions
The Daily Bread devotions for the months of June, July and August will be available on the table outside the fellowship hall as well as in the holder under the portico beginning today. If you would like a copy and are unable to get to the church, please email secretary@oaklandpresbyterianchurch.org and Kate will get a copy to you.

We will celebrate graduates on Sunday, June 4th during youth Sunday. If you have a senior graduating from High school or college, please let us know so we can celebrate them. Please send their, name, school they are graduating from, degree they are receiving (if college graduate) and their future plans if you want to share. Please email Kate (secretary@oaklandpresbyterianchurch.org) or Sarah (sarah@oaklandpresbyterianchurch.org) with this information so we can be sure to celebrate with them on June 4th during the youth Sunday worship service.

Fellowship Supper
The Fellowship Supper will take place Tomorrow, May 17th at 6:30pm. The menu will be Barbeque Chicken, Mashed Potatoes Casserole, Green beans, Layered Salad and Rolls and dessert. Please fill out a slip and place it in the offer plate or let the office know if you and your family will be attending.
Cost is $5 per person and $12 per family.

Exercise with Jennifer
Jennifer Wells will be hosting an exercise opportunity on Saturday, May 20th at 9am in the fellowship hall. This will be available for all levels and modifications can be made. Please contact Jennifer Wells (jennifer.wells15@gmail.com) if you have any questions.

New Group Opportunity!!
JOY GROUP
Just Older Youth
As part of the Congregational Care Committee, we are initiating a group for senior adults. The purpose of this group is to offer fellowship activities for our senior members. The plan is to offer outings to local points of interest followed by lunch at a local restaurant. There will not be a set schedule, but events will be scheduled as opportunities arise. We currently plan to offer outings every other month. Our first outing will be Monday May 22nd. We will meet at the church at 10:00 to travel to Smithfield. We will visit the Heritage Museum and the Ava Gardener Museum in Smithfield followed by lunch at The Gilded Pear in Smithfield. The Heritage Museum has recently opened and provides interesting exhibits about the history of Johnston County. The Ava Gardener Museum has an extensive exhibit of one of Johnston County’s best- known stars. To adequately plan we will ask that you sign up in advance so transportation can be arranged.

Please come and join us on Sunday, June 4th after youth Sunday as we "Celebrate our History and Envision our Future". The Mission Study team will give a report on the survey we all took in February and lunch will be provided! We hope to see you there!

Bob and Janet Foor are leading a weekly Bible Study on Wednesday at 11am in the Parlor.
There is also an evening weekly Bible Study led by Pastor Debbie. This group is on a break through the summer and will pick back up in the fall with the study of Acts.

Be Bold is the ministry for 4th-6th graders and their meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Due to Johnston County EOG's, there will be no Be Bold meeting on Wednesday May 24th. Be Bold will have the end of year celebration on Friday, June 2nd.
|
|
|
|
PYC is youth group for 7-12th graders and holds their meetings every Sunday at 4:30pm in the youth center. PYC will meet on Sunday, May 21st and it is bring a friend to youth night. We hope to see you there!
