Senior Boat Dance (May 12th) tickets are on sale!
The last day to purchase tickets is this Thursday, May 11th.Come to the leadership window during lunch this week to purchase your boat dance tickets for $15! Make sure you have completed your Clearance Form and received approval. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Hong.

Help Needed for Senior Activity Day-May 12th
Hello Parents of San Mateo High School Seniors! Graduation is not too far away, and we need volunteers and donations for Senior Activity Day. Senior Activity Day is FRIDAY, MAY 12TH on the football field. Seniors will have a morning snack and lunch, collect their cap and gown, sign yearbooks, play games, watch a senior slide show, and more.

The Grad Night Committee will help set up, serve and clean up AND will provide several items including Costco muffins, fruit, and waters. If you can help, please go to https://www.signupgenius. com/go/20f044faaa728a7f58- senior#/ to sign up.

Common App Essay Information Session
Juniors! Are you beginning to give thought to what you might write about in your Common App essay for your college applications? This coming Thursday at 6:30 p.m. we’ll be hosting a Common App Essay Information Session, led by an admissions officer from Georgia Tech. Learn what colleges like to see in these essays, common mistakes to avoid, and how you can use the essay to put your best foot forward in the application process. Look for a Canvas announcement from Ms. Hanson for the meeting link.

Juniors, thinking about what to write on your UC personal insight questions this coming fall application season? Want to learn how to put your best foot forward and how this writing piece differs from the Common App? We’ll be hosting an admissions officer from UC Santa Barbara on May 15th at 6:30 p.m. to help you learn all you’ll need to know. You can find the meeting link in a Canvas announcement from Ms. Hanson.

College Board has made available spring 2023 test dates for the SAT

Climate Video Challenge for middle and high school students
Enter any time this school year, through May 31, 2023. Students are invited to submit a 3-minute video responding to the question, “What is your vision for a thriving future?” Contest instructions and rules, brainstorming prompts, and lots of information on climate change and climate solutions can be found at https://www.coastal.ca.gov/climatechallenge. Students can enter as individuals or in teams of up to five. Prizes are offered for first ($300), second ($200), and third ($100) place videos.

Attendance
When you have been excused to arrive late to school, you need to report to the attendance office before going to your class. Make sure to provide a doctor's note if you attend a medical appointment.

If you are leaving early you MUST PICK UP your permit to leave before leaving campus. If you do not have it with you when leaving, your attendance will be changed to a CUT .

We are happy to see many students in the Bearcat Den after school in the library.
*We are asking all students to follow these rules while in the Bearcat Den.

Bring your ID to check-in
Check into the library right after school.
Enter the library quietly and maintain a quiet environment
Listen to and respect the tutors and adults in the library
Actively work on assignments

*If a student does not follow these rules, they will be asked to leave the library.

Going to the Bearcat Den is a PRIVILEGE. Let's work together to make it a great environment for all Bearcats!

ID Cards for Library Services
Barcode printouts will no longer be available for students who forget their ID cards. ID cards are needed for Chromebook loaners, loaner chargers, and attending the Bearcat Den after school. Students will not be able to borrow Chromebooks Loaners or attend the Bearcat Den without their student ID card.

Friday 7:30- 4pm

Textbook Room Hours
Monday - Friday
8 am - 3:30 pm

DISTRICT ISSUED DEVICES
Students must bring their charged chromebook to school on a daily basis. While on campus, students are to use their school issued device and leave personal devices at home.
Some of the reasons why:

Students are responsible for these school issued devices and will be charged for any damages to their Chromebook

If you have any Books or Calculators that you are not using or no longer need,
please return them to the Library or the Textbook room, A-002 as soon as possible.

Los estudiantes del ultimo tendrán un refrigerio y almuerzo por la mañana, recogerán su toga y birrete, firmarán anuarios, jugarán juegos, verán una presentación de diapositivas para los Senior y más.
