FROM THE INTERIM RECTOR

Friends,

Last Sunday, the inaugural St. Christopher’s Cafe was a success. Thank you to Paul Clark, Jen Enriquez, and our Youth Leaders for providing this opportunity for fellowship, coffee, and connection.

Additionally, Marilyn Huebel and Emily Culbertson provided the morning services with an update from the Search Committee. Last Monday, our Search Committee moved into the most confidential, exciting, and difficult part of the search - beginning candidate interviews! For the weeks ahead, updates from our Search Committee will primarily be the same four words, “we are interviewing candidates.” I ask that you keep our Search Committee in your prayers as they do this important work on behalf of all of us.

As we prepare for summer, there are important celebrations for you to get on your calendar. On
Saturday, May 20th, we will gather at the Cathedral at 11AM for a service of confirmation, reception, and reaffirmation. We will recognize our candidate’s commitments to continuing on the journey of faith at coffee hour the following Sunday, May 21st. Also, on the 21st, all formation opportunities come to a close for the summer. After the 11:00 service, our monthly Shanahan’s Shenanigans gathers for food, drink, and conversation. Folks will arrive hungry and thirsty around 12:30PM.

On Sunday, May 28th, Pentecost is celebrated at all three services, and we will congratulate our graduating seniors. The following Sunday, we participate in Oak Park’s Day in Our Village on June 4. Then on Sunday, June 11, we officially kick off summer with our annual Parish Picnic. There will be one service at 10AM with eating and fellowship immediately following!

I look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Faithfully,

Kevin

PARISH LIFE

Meal Train

We are starting up a meal train program to deliver meals to people when they have big life changes, such as a birth or a death in the family. This week and next week we are bringing meals to the Lambs, who recently welcomed their new baby, Larsen!

Click on this LINK below to sign up for any of the days that are still free.

Fellowship and Crafting!

All are welcome to join a “Knitting” Fellowship group that meets during the noon coffee hour on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month to socialize and perhaps craft!  Many of us knit, some crochet, and anyone not doing crafts can help keep the conversation going when we get distracted by dropped stitches!

Caring for Each Other - Name Tags

As a way of increasing our sense of community, we are encouraging people to use name tags on Sunday. Look for paper name tags and markers by the kitchen in the parish hall, or in the back of the church when you enter. This is a great way for newcomers to get to know people, and also a way for long-time church members to finally remember the name of that person they have seen for years but have never greeted by name.

With help downloading, accessing, or logging in to the 2 apps that power St. Christopher’s - Breeze and Ministry Scheduler Pro - contact Uziel, our parish administrator. You must be a verified member and regular worship attendee to receive codes for access.
