What’s Jewish about Mother’s Day?
Have you ever met a Jewish mother?!
The fifth commandment tells us clearly we must honor our parents. According to traditional Jewish understanding, this means honoring them not just on one day, but every day.
Today we honor all the mothers in Kehillah: those with young children, grown kids, those whose children are sadly no longer with us, and those families where “mom” is an aunt, a grandmother, a cousin, or someone else.
May Mother’s Day be filled with blessing for you and your family. And as my mom would say: call your mother!
