Sunday Adult Formation in Easter Season: Faith and the Visual Arts
9:30-10:15, library and on Zoom, beginning April 16
Artistic images express things that words alone cannot. They evoke feelings. They inspire. They ‘move’ people. They draw us beyond the ordinary and the mundane, and put us in touch with the Divine. Christianity has long recognized this, and made the Arts and Beauty integral to the life of the Church.
This week: Libby McFalls (Professor of Printmaking and Art Foundations, Columbus State University; Art Foundation Coordinator)
"Visual Storytelling and Connecting with Others''
Libby McFalls shares her perspective on making and building visual narratives in her studio practice. The conversation will examine the relationship between "faith" and "art" in her artistic career. We'll also consider how the visual arts are another way to engage others and find commonality in shared experiences.
May 12: Open Conversation on the Visual Arts in our life of faith
This Easter Season we will have a special guest join us each Sunday at the Youth Room Coffee Bar to share their story. Each guest will share their story, highlight their career path, and discuss how faith influences their work. Plan to attend each week for a chance to get to know different St. Thomas Parishioners and learn about exciting possible pathways for your future. Thanks to Brian and Hannah Walker for sharing yesterday. We look forward to hearing from Joanna & Evan Collins this week.

God of victory over death, your Son revealed himself again and again to convince his followers of his glorious resurrection: Grant that we may know his risen presence, in love obediently feed his sheep and care for the lambs of his flock, until we join the hosts of heaven in worshiping you and praising the one who is worthy of blessing and honor, glory and power, for ever and ever. Amen.
