Welcome the Month of May!
UpaDowna made Earth Day a month long celebration in April!

If you missed UpaDowna's April fun, let's catch up!

We boogied all night at the Earth Day Silent Disco at OCC Brewing. Participants dressed up in their create neature costumes and (silently) danced the night away. Thank you to our event sponsors, Swig & Sport, Fjallraven, and OCC Brewing. Together, you helped us raise $1100!

UpaDowna headed to our two adopted parks this month, Monument Valley Park North and Quail Lake, to cleanup the spaces we love!

The snow couldn't stop us for the Great American Cleanup. We hosted a makeup day cleanup and had 16 awesome volunteers help us pick up trash throughout Monument Valley Park North and along Monument Creek.

Then we headed to Quail Lake for a Trash Cleanup Party and to celebrate our Program Manager's birthday. The shorelines were littered with cigarette butts, cans, and fishing lines. Thanks to the help of our volunteers, we were able to leave the park better than we found it and prepare the space for all the fun summer activities we plan to host at Quail Lake including our Summer of SUP classes!

There are multiple ways to get involved in the month of May!
  • Come on out for some fun social events to support UpaDowna and our community.  Red Leg Brewing will be hosting UpaDowna on Thursday, May 4th from 5-8 pm for Craft for a Cause. $1 of every beer sold goes back to UpaDowna.  Yoga will be offered from 6-7 pm so be sure to sign up! Kingship Landing will be hosting their Spring Social on Wednesday, May 17th from 5-9:00 pm.
  • Keep the trails, parks, and open spaces you love clean with UpaDowna. Our monthly cleanups are continuing through May. You can join the Yeti team on Sunday, May 7th from 9-11:00 am at Quail Lake!
  • Unleash your Adventure and learn the basics of climbing at our last (until the Fall) Intro to Climbing Night on Friday, May 19th from 6-8:00 pm at CityROCK. Your donation-based registration includes climbing harnesses, shoes, and education on the essentials you need to start climbing.
  • Zumba on the Park returns on Friday, May 5th from 9:00-9:45 and will run every Friday until the end of August at First & Main Towne Center. Come dance and get your weekend started right!
  • We will be starting a new series called "Mindfulness Hikes in the Garden"! The first one kicks off Saturday, May 13th from 9:00-10:00 am at Garden of the God Visitor Center!  This event includes a 1-hour hike, meditation & yoga within Garden of the Gods!
There are MANY more events in the month of May. To join any upcoming events, check out Eventbrite to sign up and register: http://upadowna.eventbrite.com

We look forward to having you #unleashyouradventure this month!
