Did You Know?
Hi! My name is Nick Gizzi and I am the new music director here at Koinonia. First, I would like to express gratitude for being offered this position. It gives me a chance to explore musical creativity within a spiritually minded community, and I look forward to being able to bring a wide variety of musical ideas to this group. I have been playing music for 20 years now and currently teach private music lessons full-time. My main instrument is guitar, but I also teach piano, drums, bass guitar and ukulele. I earned my music production degree at Illinois State University in Normal, IL back in 2019 and have been able to keep music as my full-time career since then.

Aside from music, I enjoy visiting Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, being active and practicing Reiki.

My spiritual journey has included being raised Catholic until age 13, then being Presbyterian for a while, and then being a member of a Jewish fraternity while attending college. Currently I find the most spiritual experience through my practice of Reiki. I don’t particularly attach myself to just one belief system and find the greatest spiritual truth residing in the oneness of all things. I have an open mind and love learning about all sorts of spiritual journeys. Spirituality is a topic I enjoy discussing and would be happy to sit down with any Koinonians sometime and chat about it! I look forward to providing music on Sundays at Koinonia and being involved in the community here!

Koinonia's next Soup Lunch is Sunday, May 7 at noon. We hope to see you there! (Sign up at church or contact Bonnie at administrator@koinoniagj.org)
Koinonia's Gathering Team meets Monday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. See Craig, Ellen, Janie, Joanna, and/or Susan if you have ideas and/or suggestions for weekly gatherings. Nick will be a member of this team in coordinating music on Sundays.

The next Banned Book Discussion will be at Koinonia on Monday, May 15 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Book is To Kill a Mockingbird
by Harper Lee.

Koinonia and CSL will host the next Crystal Singing Bowls on May 17 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  A $20 love offering is suggested.
Koinonia's Community Garden is once again gearing up for the season. We have a couple of plots still available. Plots are $50 for the season. Contact Ben (303) 829-1094 or Alex (720) 391-4702 if interested or email them at arf.frederick@gmail.com
Prayers and Concerns

Please pause to hold in your heart the prayers and concerns of our beloved community:
  • For the victims and loved ones of relentless gun violence, and for our responses
  • For the healing of our divided nation
  • For renewed energy and efforts within our beloved community
  • For comfort for those experiencing difficult emotions (fear, anger, loneliness, loss, confusion etc.)

You are invited to share the circumstances that are touching your heart in recent days. Please contact Bonnie (administrator@koinoniagj.org) or Ellen (director@koinoniagj.org) if you have joys, concerns, and/or prayer requests that you would like to share with the community.
