«Perante tais actos totalmente intoleráveis, este cidadão português lança hoje um clamor de indignação ao Secretário-Geral da ONU, tendo na sua mente a imagem das cinco inocentes crianças ucranianas mortas, que são os rostos mais pungentes do bombardeamento vil e cobarde daquele dia 28 de Abril. Como sublinhava o grande filósofo Marcel Conche, o sofrimento e o massacre de crianças é algo injustificável e um mal absoluto. Sempre! ».

Conquistou o The Goethe Book Award 2022, eminente prémio literário atribuído à ficção histórica do pós-1750, com, “Eleonora and Joseph: Passion, Tragedy, and Revolution in the Age of Enlightenment”: «Together with Thomas Jefferson, they formed part of the Republic of Letters, a formidable network of thinkers who radically influenced the intellectual world in which they lived – and which we still inhabit today.».

VIOLETA CARVALHO
Under a Fulbright Grant for Research with the support of FCT, is now developing her project on a “physiologically mimicking brain bioreactor that recreates the miniaturized human brain platform” at Harvard Medical School, MA, USA. Violeta is a Ph.D. student from Universidade do Minho.
