Worship with Central this Sunday, May 7, 2023.

On this brightening morning we heard special music from our organist Steve McCullough, violinist David Nwalado and our choir. Kyle Kershaw assisted and read Proverbs 4. In the Children’s Lesson, Linda Riggins asked the children what they play with in their yard or in the park. She demonstrated with a hula hoop, balls and sidewalk chalk. Remember that God created the world for us to enjoy his creation. Spend 100 hours outside this summer.

Pastor Mike Riggins read from 1 Peter 2.  In his sermon “Build on the Rock” he talked about the book of Proverbs, literally a collection of proverbs about wisdom. Much of the Old Testament is about wisdom, a concept very important to the Jews. Listen to wise people in our world and follow their advice. Acquire wisdom – walk with Jesus, the rock the builders rejected.

Today the choir appreciation reception took place before the service. Communion was served during worship. Next Sunday is Youth Sunday when our youth lead the worship service – don’t miss it here or in person.
