YOUTH FELLOWSHIP PARENT'S MEETING
Sunday, May 21, 2023

We are excited to begin planning our Youth Fellowship meetings and events for the summer.  Seminarian Tyler Simmons will be heading up a meeting on Sunday, May 21, at St. Lucas immediately following the late service (approximately 11:45 a.m.).  All parents of youth are invited to attend.  We look forward to seeing you there!
WELCOME TO ST. LUCAS
John and Connie Simmons

We welcome John and Connie Simmons to St. Lucas!  As many of you know, they are the parents of field worker, Tyler Simmons.  John is beginning his studies at the seminary, starting with summer Greek.  He is coming from a computer programming background and will continue to work in this field part time.  Connie has worked as a music director at their previous church.  Both she and John will be sharing their musical talents while at St. Lucas.  They will be at St. Lucas for the next few months at least.  We are hoping (praying!) that John will also be assigned as a field worker at St. Lucas.

Be sure to extend them a hearty welcome!
CHILDERS WILL GO TO KNOXVILLE TN.

Jake and Christine Childers are off to Knoxville, TN, where Jake has received a call to serve as Associate Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church!  Our prayers are with them as they begin ministry.  May God bless them richly with joyful and fruitful ministry for the Kingdom of Christ.
WHAT SHOULD WE AS CHRISTIANS ENCOURAGE?

God’s Word calls us to encourage one another and to build each other up.   However, as we all struggle with our sinful nature, it may not be as easy as it sounds. God calls us to love and forgive each other but the devil is all too happy to sow discord, strife and even hatred in the church.

How do we practice the Christian habit of Encouragement in our lives?
  • By loving and forgiving each other
  • By having conversations that matter
  • By building one another up
  • By not going along with bad behavior
  • By handling personal concerns according to God’s good order
Learn more about how Encouragement works and what Jesus wants in His relationship with you by picking up a green All-In Discipleship folder in our narthex, or by going online at:   https://www.stlucaslcms.org/all-in/
COFFEE TAWLK on ENCOURAGEMENT
May 21, 9:15 a.m.

Also, please join us for the All-In Discipleship Coffee Tawlk discussion on Encouragement, Sunday, May 21st at 9:15 a.m. in the gym at St. Lucas.  Hosted by Randall Schlesselman and Pastor Larson, it will be a casual, informal, and friendly discussion on what it means to be an All-In Encourager.  As always, there will be a light breakfast served!   You won't want to miss it!
SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE CLASS

REACTIONS TO PENTECOST ACCOUNT
What do you think?

In preparation for preaching on Pentecost Sunday, May 28, Seminarian Tyler Simmons is asking for your input.  Please read Acts 2:1-21 and respond to the questions at this link.

There are no wrong answers. The goal is to get an idea for how this passage impacts people today. Feel free to share this form with friends/family; the more feedback the better!  If you have any questions or want to discuss this passage in more depth, please feel free to contact Tyler!
