Online applications for Monroe Commons public waitlist is closing this Friday! Monroe Commons is a brand-new affordable housing community located at 2330 Monroe Street in Santa Clara. Online applications are accepted until May 5, 2023, at 5:00 p.m.


IDD Set-Aside Units

Our waitlist for IDD set-aside units will continue to be open. We have a total of 16 units available including 7 studios, 5 one-bedroom, and 4 two-bedroom units. Eligibility is income-restricted, as are rents. To apply for these IDD set-aside units, kindly reach out to your Housing Coordinator at Housing Choices and let us know your name, phone number, and the best time to call you. We will be happy to guide you through the application process and answer any questions you may have. You can also speak to your regional center service worker to receive authorized services from Housing Choices.

 Miramontes Apartments

Miramontes Apartments, which is located at 1304 El Camino Real in Redwood City, offers 39 studios and one bedroom apartments, of which, 15 studio apartments include a preference for people with IDD. The property also includes a community room and an on-site laundry facility.


Housing Choices will continue submitting applications for the IDD units until the property is fully leased up. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Join us for a tour of Page Street Studios, co-hosted by CatalyzeSV and Charities Housing, as we proudly showcase one of our latest Partner Properties in San Jose. Page Street Studios has 10 units that include a preference for individuals with I/DD. Additionally, its colorful interiors, modern aesthetics, and an incredibly convenient location, make it a perfect place to call home. Enjoy light refreshments and hear from our Executive Director, Dennise Jauregui, and Theresa Gaeta, a Page Street Studios resident with IDD who will share her inspiring journey of finding affordable housing that fits her unique needs.

Light Tree Apartments Tour

Experience the power of community. Join us, along with Housing Leadership Council, elected officials, and housing advocates for their Affordable Housing Policy Breakfast and Tour leading up to the grand re-opening of Light Tree Apartments in East Palo Alto. Light Tree Apartments is a new Partner Property that offers 10 units with Project-Based Vouchers that include a preference for people with developmental and other disabilities who require supportive services to maintain their housing.

At breakfast, you'll have the opportunity to hear from elected officials, ask questions, learn about the latest housing policies, and celebrate recent victories with other advocates who are championing the future of affordable and accessible housing.


Following the breakfast, join us for a local bus tour of recent affordable housing developments and help us cut the ribbon on Eden Housing’s Light Tree project in East Palo Alto. Additionally, you’ll hear from a few guest speakers, including our Executive Director Dennise Jauregui and Roseann Greigo, a person with IDD living at the property and receiving housing support services from Housing Choices.

Take a FREE tour of Firehouse Square, one of our newest Partner Properties in San Mateo County. The property has 8 units with Project Based Vouchers which include a preference for people with developmental and other disabilities who need supportive services to retain their housing.


The ceremony, hosted by MidPen Housing, will include remarks, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, a tour, and a light refreshment reception. This is a great example of what's possible when civic, nonprofit, and business leaders come together to create lasting affordable housing solutions and transit-oriented, mixed-use development.
