Affordable Housing Month Community Conversation & Celebration
Saturday, May 6 at Cabrillo College's Samper Recital Hall from 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm.
The celebration will feature keynote speaker Shane Phillips, urban planner, policy expert and author of The Affordable City: Strategies for Putting Housing Within Reach (and Keeping it There), as well as a children's corner with a book reading by Leticia Hernández-Linares, author of the children's book "Alejandria Fights Back!", an outdoor resource fair with food trucks and live music from Matt Masih and the Messengers.

Jessie St. Terrace Groundbreaking
Friday, May 19, at Jessie Street Terrace, 314 Jessie Street, Santa Cruz from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.
Join us as we celebrate the Groundbreaking of Jessie Street Terrace!
Jessie Street Terrace will deliver 50 supportive apartments for individuals experiencing homelessness, including veterans, in the City of Santa Cruz. Jessie Street Terrace is the result of thoughtful planning and close coordination with the City of Santa Cruz, the Housing Authority of Santa Cruz County, California Department of Housing and Community Development and other numerous community members.
This in-person event includes remarks, the official golden shovel ceremony, and a light refreshment reception.

Tuesday, May 30, at Downtown Santa Cruz Library, 224 Church St. in Santa Cruz from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Santa Cruz Public Libraries is hosting this discussion about affordable housing. This will be an opportunity to deepen your awareness of your neighbors’ experiences; grow your understanding of the foundational role that home plays in strengthening our individual, family, and community outcomes; and cultivate a commitment to ongoing learning.
