Thank You!

"Always comforting & welcoming" . . . "It was a place that felt like home as a shy awkward kid" . . . "Smells good" . . . "I would be lost without you."

Thank you to everyone who spent Independent Bookstore Day with us last weekend, and to all who stopped by to leave a note on our TELL US WHY YOU LOVE YOUR BOOKSTORE banner. By day's end it was full of wonderful comments. Thank you!

The Eyes & the Impossible

"We need brave, big stories like these, stories that help children (and adults) find their place in a sometimes frightening world.”—Nicola Davies, New York Times Book Review

Following our blink-and-you-missed-it pre-order promotion last month, we are grateful to McSweeney's publishing and author Dave Eggers for rushing us additional copies of the gorgeous, deluxe edition of Egger's new all-ages novel, The Eyes & the Impossible. This limited edition is the most literal hardcover you've ever seen, with gorgeous die-cut hardwood covers and gold-edged pages. And we have a very limited number of editions personally signed by the author. Get your copy now at this exclusive link.

(And if you miss out on the signed edition, you can still get an unsigned deluxe edition or even a more traditionally bound edition of this endearing new title.)

Our Event Series

Browse the lineup of our upcoming events; we are regularly posting new announcements! You can also subscribe to our Google Calendar and view our video archive of past events.

We're partnering with the Cambridge Public Library for two notable events coming up, with journalist Mitchell Zuckoff (May 10) and An Unquiet Mind author Kay Redfield Jamison (May 22). Professor Zuckoff's The Secret Gate tells the story of a breathtaking rescue in the frenzied final hours of the U.S. evacuation of Afghanistan. In Fires of the Dark, Professor Jamison considers the age-old quest for relief from psychological pain and the role of the exceptional healer in the journey back to health. Register for these events at harvard.com.
