Aggie RUF Praise and Ways to Help for RUF Summer Conference 2023!

One of the best weeks of the year is right around the corner for Aggie RUF!

What? RUF Summer Conference 2023 - Week 3
Over 49 schools around the country will meet for a week at the beach to rest, fellowship and hear amazing Biblical, Gospel-centered teaching.
Where? Laguna Beach Christian Retreat in Panama City, FL
When? May 15th-20th!

At RUF we do not measure success merely by the number of students or sheer quantity of students that are involved in our ministry. And even though our ministry is in Texas (while most things are bigger here) we do not believe the tongue in cheek slogan that "bigger is better". Nor do we believe that "smaller is more sanctified". Ministries can be big or small for all the right reasons. Or for all the wrong reasons. (https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/kevin-deyoung/numbers-in-the-church-is-bigger-badder-or-better/)

What motivates Aggie RUF is not the idolatry of attendance (big or small), but rather a pursuit of faithfulness to God, His Word and sharing His Gospel with Aggie students.

And yet while numbers are not everything, they are something. RUF Summer Conference is an amazing, annual opportunity to fulfill our mission statement in reaching and equipping Aggie students for Christ, for those who are either convinced or unconvinced of Christianity. It is a week where students will hear the Gospel every night (namely through our keynote speaker, Rev. Brian Sorgenfrei) on the life-transforming doctrine of Justification by Faith Alone. Aggie students will also have the opportunity every morning to attend a 2-day and 4-day seminar taught by ordained RUF Campus Ministers around the country on topics like: The Church, How to Read the Bible, Assurance of Salvation, Covenant Theology, Prayer, Sanctification etc... just to name a few. Moreover, they will have the opportunity to rest from a very long semester by getting connected to other RUF Texas A&M students. Needless to say this is one of the greatest opportunities for non-Christians and students who are on the fringe of RUF to hear the Gospel and go further up and further into a Gospel-centered community.

With that said, it is a joy to announce that we will have 54 Aggie students joining us at Summer Conference on May 15-20. Historically, this is the largest number of students Texas A&M RUF has ever brought to SUCO (Summer Conference). We are grateful to the Lord and praise Him for bringing students to come hear His Word and rest!

How can you help get Aggie students to Summer Conference?

In order to give students an opportunity to attend SUCO, we need to provide a certain number of scholarships each year. The Lord has been kind. We have almost everything financially covered, which is a huge praise!
The final amount we need is $3,200 to support a few more of our Aggie students! This total will cover the remaining scholarships. I have attached below a giving breakdown of the total. Could you see yourself filling any of these spots? If so, please click the blue button below to give to Texas A&M RUF in helping our students get to Summer Conference.

Whether you are or are not in the position to give financially, we ask that you join us in prayer for our students at Summer Conference May 15th-20th:

- Please pray that God would change a student's heart this week. We have a few non-Christians joining us at SUCO and we are hopeful the Lord will soften the hearts of some of our students through the teaching and preaching of His Word. Please pray students will come to saving faith in Jesus.

- Please pray for safety as our family and all of our students travel a long way to FL. It's about an 11 hour drive from College Station for most of our students! Also some of our students are flying.

- Please pray that students would feel more connected to Jesus, to one another and to Aggie RUF. One of our hopes is that students would make life long friendships at SUCO and feel more connected to RUF when they return to College Station.
1 Corinthians 3:5-9
5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building.
