Jessica Cadiente Library Champion Award
The Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation launched the inaugural Jessica Cadiente Library Champion Award at the National Library Week kick-off event.

This award was created to honor Library Director, Jessica Cadiente’s vision and leadership. The award will be given annually to someone who shows dedication to the Santa Barbara Public Library. Ms. Cadiente has worked in almost every position available at a public library through the course of her career. She believes that public libraries have the power to adapt to the needs of their communities and have the ability to expand services and collections to benefit everyone, the foundation noted. The Library Foundation is thrilled to create a new tradition and launch this award as a testament to Ms. Cadiente’s commitment to public service.

The National Library Week kick-off updated attendees on the Library’s progress on the new Michael Towbes Library Plaza and recognized the many donors, volunteers, Library staff, and City leaders who have made this renovation possible. Thank YOU for making the event special and honoring Library Director, Jessica Cadiente.

It is a place that inspires thought and connectivity and when you leave you are more enriched then when you arrived. The Library also offers a respite, a sanctuary from all of the tedious tasks and “noise” of external distractions. It provides an opportunity to prioritize yourself and your personal growth as well as that of your family.
