In our OUT season of discipleship, we encourage you to be thinking OUTwardly as an individual, in your families, and your small groups, etc. Our 2023 OUT challenge includes two parts. The first focuses on prayer - praying that God would transform us for his service and praying for the needs of others. The second focuses on taking one intentional step forward in building a relationship with a neighbor.

The six-week challenge began on Monday, May 1st, but it's not too late to start!! Will you accept it?

"How am I using my gifts to serve the church?" is one of the questions we ask ourselves during OUT season. If you are not currently serving in some way or if you want to do more, we would love for you to fill out a "We Serve" form and let us know how you'd like to get involved.

*Immediate Volunteer Need:
Preschool Kids' Ministry has opened two new rooms, so now needs TWICE the help each Sunday. Volunteering just one Sunday every 4-6 weeks during the 10:30am service will fill the need. This is a great way to connect with other adults who volunteer, build your own faith, and help the kids in our church family learn more about Jesus. E-mail jbrownlee@fpctacoma.org to get involved.

Neighborhood trash clean-up! Saturday, May 20, 10am-12pm. Meet at Umpqua Bank (formerly Columbia Bank) parking lot. Anthem Coffee and Stadium Thriftway are partnering with us and offering snacks at Anthem afterwards. Supplies will be provided, but bring trash grabbers if you have them. This is becoming a true community event with lots of neighbors getting involved. We encourage you to pre-register online.

Join us this summer for Stellar VBS at FPC! Stellar rockets kids on an out-of-this-world adventure that’s light years of faith-building fun. Kids, ages 4 years to 5th grade, will explore how Jesus shined hope, love, forgiveness, and joy to the world- and how we can do the same with his power. Register on our FPC website and invite a friend!

Come join us and be inspired during our OUT season of discipleship, as we host 6 of our FPC-supported Tacoma ministries during the 9:15am Sunday School hour in the Gold Room (South Building). Each class will include time for Q&A and fellowship over coffee and donuts. 

This Sunday we will be hosting Dan Stoehr, from REACH. The vision of REACH Ministries is to see HIV-positive children, families, and adults throughout the Pacific Northwest flourish with dignity and self-worth in the face of persistent rejection and isolation. Currently they serve their families through camp/retreat weekends, mentoring, and year-round family support activities. Their office is located just a couple blocks away from FPC.

Part-Time Website Support Role

We are looking for someone who can provide part-time website support (up to 5 hours a week). Ideally, we'd like to work with someone who's already active in our congregation. This would currently be an interim, contract position. Responsibilities would primarily include maintaining and updating our website (Subsplash platform), working closely with our Communications Coordinator and Director of Worship and Outreach. HTML knowledge is not necessary but helpful. Some graphic design abilities are preferred. If you have experience and are interested, please contact Michelle Martinez at mmartinez@fpctacoma.org.
