The weather seems to be warming up, the days are definitely getting longer, and my summer schedule is already filled to the brim it seems like! I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling that as you look at your summer plans. Summer in the Midwest is always full of exciting times and often we as a community scatter far and wide with vacations and weddings and camping and all of the good stuff.
In all the busyness it's easy to get disconnected over the summer. We can get disconnected from our friends as we all scatter to different places for vacation. We can get disconnected from our church as weekends fill up. We can even get a little disconnected from our relationship with God. So the question I've been pondering for myself and for the church as we enter this busy season is how to stay connected on the way.
I've noticed that in being a part of the young adults small group this spring, the weekly connection of friendship and fellowship has been so good for my soul. I think summer is a great opportunity for us as a community to have opportunities for friendship and fellowship too.
We have a few ideas for Fusion fellowship and connection in the works right now (like Sunday night pickleball league...more info to come!), but I want to invite you to think about what kind of connection opportunities you might engage in too!
Before things get too busy, can you chat with your family and make a plan for how you can stay connected to your community while you're "on the way this summer"? Maybe it's carving out time each weekend no matter where you are to find a church or to worship at Fusion online. Maybe it's making an effort to put Fusion fellowship events on the calendar as a part of your summer plans.
I think you'll find come the end of summer that connection will make all the difference!
