Professional Ukrainian Musicians to Play at Fundraiser for Local Group
VICTORIA, BC - Help Ukraine Vancouver Island Society (HUVI) is excited to announce its upcoming fundraiser on Thursday May 11th from 7:00-8:30pm at St. Victoria Truth Centre (2815 Cedar Hill Road).
This event will feature the talents of 4 professional Ukrainian musicians who have recently found refuge on the Island. Desserts and beverages will be available.
Admission is by donation, and Victoria Truth Centre will match all donations made at the event.
"This is an opportunity for our community to come together and support displaced Ukrainians on Vancouver Island," said Karmen McNamara, General Manager of HUVI. "Every penny raised goes directly towards creating decent and safe new lives for individuals living here.”
With over 1200 refugees supported since March 2022 alone, HUVI remains committed to providing essential resources and support to those in need. The proceeds from this sale will help fund necessary items such as groceries, toiletries, and English lessons – all designed to empower refugees by fulfilling their basic needs while they work to build a better future.
"We're thrilled to share this wonderful music with our community," added McNamara. "It's a win-win situation where everyone benefits."
Be sure not to miss out on this incredible night of music, while contributing towards an incredibly worthy cause.
