Let Civitas know ASAP if you'd like to be part of a WUMUNS team this fall!

Washington University's annual weekend-long Model UN will be September 29th-October 1, 2023. Participating in a General Assembly is just one of many options. Other committees and simulations, including historical and current issues facing the UN, are a part of the experience.

Ideally, your school will sign up to bring a delegation. If that's not possible, and you are interested in participating, contact Civitas to be on a team. We will take up to 10 interested high school students. Email Stephanie at gavinstephanie89@gmail.com if you'd like to be on the Civitas team.

Middle School Model UN Ends with 2 Fantastic Sessions!

Last week we concluded the 2022-2023 Middle School Model UN year with 2 action packed sessions. It was a bustling Thursday and Friday with about 175 students from 6 schools on those days. While we can't claim to have achieved world peace, the majority of the resolutions that focused on human rights were passed at both sessions. All of our middle school delegates put in a ton of effort and did an outstanding job as diplomats.

There are no scheduled events remaining for high school students this school year. However, mark your calendars for these upcoming opportunities, details coming in mid-August:

The Festival of Nations in Tower Grove Park, August 26 & 27, 2023: Civitas will have a booth on both days (Saturday and Sunday) and will be looking for student volunteers to help out.
Kick-off for the 2023-2024 School Year, Saturday, September 9, 2023: Stay tuned for more information!
