Network, share ideas and explore a CYP subject-specific area
  • Tues 6th June-Empower CYP to have influence and lead today. Andy Monks, CYP worker at Ascension Balham and author of The Now Generation.
  • Monday 19th June-Musical opportunities with children and young people. Ben Vonberg Clark, Director of Music at St John the Divine, Kennington.
  • Tues 4th July-worship and Biblical storytelling with babies, toddlers and young children. Sharon Moughtin, the author of Diddy Disciples .

Youth forums are back!
We want to hear from our youth! Do encourage your young people (aged 13+) to join the Bishop and Archdeacons of their episcopal area to have their say on topics that are important to them and build connections with other young people.

Do you work with young people?

Join the 9 month Aurora Youth Ministry course, become a Commissioned Youth Workerand gain a qualification which is recognised throughout the Diocese of Southwark. 
  • Deepen your understanding of ministry to young people in today’s settings. 
  • Identify what is not working so well in your church and make changes. 
To gain the qualification you also need to complete the Bishop’s Certificate in the second year.  There is also an Aurora Children’s Ministry course, and that will begin in September 2024 (you could begin that qualification by taking the Bishop’s Certificate first).
 

To join the course you will:

  1. Attend a Lay Ministry evening. Email Helen Medland to book your lay ministry evening place
  2. Go through a discernment process led by the Lay Ministry Team
  3.  Complete the 9 month Aurora Course, followed by the 9 month Southwark Diocese Bishop's Certificate.
