News and opportunities for members

A new character trail is coming to York in 2024, with up to 30 Snooks guiding people through York's cobbled streets and hidden gardens, organised by Make It York with charity partner St Leonard's Hospice. On the 10th May 2023, we'd like to invite you to Middletons Hotel, Skeldergate to meet one of the Snooks and to learn more about the benefits of sponsoring the trail. Please RSVP here.

The Visit York 'Quarterly Results for January to March 2023' have been released. Key statistics from the report shows that occupancy has increased by 28% and attraction visits are up 14% vs. Jan-Mar 2022, despite city centre footfall falling by 3%. To find more visitor statistics, email helen.wilkinson@makeityork.com

We will be updating our press pack, the Book of Ideas, at the end of Summer to keep journalists up to date with new openings, exhibitions and upcoming events happening in York this year. To stay involved with our press activity, both locally and nationally, please send your updates to comms@makeityork.com.

A huge congratulations to The Dovecote Barns, who have been named as a finalist in the Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year category for the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence! We wish them all the luck for the award ceremony on the 7th June, where the gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced at the Warner Bros. Studios, London. You can read more here.
