A Note About This Sunday...
     from Rev. Maurene

Practitioner Robert will be bringing red poppies for everyone to wear to commemorate Memorial Day.   These colorful little flowers, often made of fabric such as silk, or crepe paper, honor and memorialize fallen soldiers, as well as serving as a fundraiser to support our nation's war veterans.  The practice started in World War I, where they grew in the unlikeliest of places, and in particular the fields of Flanders, Belgium.   Even though the war torn battlefields were left devastated, red poppies arose from the wreckage come spring, like tiny beacons of hope. Moina Michael, a professor at the University of Georgia lobbied to make the red poppy a national memorial symbol.  The little red flower officially became the U.S. national emblem of remembrance on September 27, 1920.

Please join me this Sunday to find out more about this special day of remembrance.

     Blessings,
     Rev. Maurene
Dear Friends,

What does Memorial Day weekend mean to you?  A time for fun?  A time for remembering those who have gone before us?  Rev. Maurene will be the speaker, and I know she's been giving her words some careful thought.  Plus -it's sure to be a beautiful day for making music, making friends, and making new memories.

If you missed hearing Rev. Dr. Matti speaking last week, you can go to YouTube and search for @CSLCarlsbad to take you to our library of videos.  You can fast forward, adjust the volume and even turn on closed captioning... so enjoy!

See You Soon,
Rev. Kate

Treat and Move Your Feet:
Practitioner Bené Raphael

In our daily practice of positive prayer and treatments, we recognize the power of intention that Source can act upon. This power is the creative force that moves through our thoughts and actions and becomes the manifestation of our intention. Our practice of Religious Science teaches us the necessity to not only hold a thought of our intention but also to follow up with an action that signifies to Source our recognition of it.

Meditation Suggestion:
Take a few minutes and reflect on this passage by Ernest Holmes...

“I am never alone, never lonely, for I have as companions and friends those people who are drawn to me by the ever-active and immutable Law of Attraction.  I desire to be loved, therefore, I allow myself to love greatly, to feel warmly inclined toward people; to be interested in them and helpful on their behalf.  I give as I wish to receive...
I am happy and radiant, for I enjoy at all times perfect companionship.  I trust implicitly the the Law of Attraction to bring into my environment and atmosphere friends and loved ones, and establish for me a community of interest and helpfulness...  I am happy in all of my relationships, because they are worked out perfectly by the Law, and the Law is motivated to work for me by my love for people."

Affirmation:

"I accept the gifts of success, prosperity, health, and happiness with gratitude and appreciation."
