This last weekend in May is busy and important.
Consider...
1. Memorial Day, honoring those military who died defending is. Pray for them.
2. Pentecost Sunday, remember the first coming of the Holy Spirit. Pray in Thanks.
3. The burial of two of our family in the memorial garden. Patricia Mates, joining her husband, Ted, and
William McKoy, joining his wife, Mary.
4. The last Sunday with our choir, pray in Thanks for them.
5. The "beginning" of summer. Pray for seasonable weather and no fires!
Blessings,
Father Ed

A Thankful Note from Our Choir Director!
|
|
|
Dear St. Patrick’s Family,
On behalf of myself and Doug Richardson, I would like to say a thank you to the 2022-2023 Choir and the congregation for a successful season of singing God’s praises and for the congregation’s kind support. We hope that the music helped to bring you closer to God, and helped move you in ways that mere words cannot. Doug and I hope you have enjoyed the various styles and genres of music that have been presented in the hope to help nourish your spiritual being.
The Choir will return to rehearsals on Thursday, August 17th at 6:30P.M. and will return to services starting Sunday, September 10th. We will present a lovely arrangement of the Irish Blessing (May the Road Rise to Meet You) as our final anthem this Sunday.
“…and until we meet again, may you keep safe in the gentle, loving arms of God.”
Sincerely,
Mark Kratz
Music Director

Greetings Friends! Check out Eleanor's thankful note to her volunteers from this week's distribution!
Thank you to Beth, Lauri, Natalie, Olivia, Mary, driver Tomie, and rep Arturo. 53 households/183 individuals received food tonight! Internet interruptions caused some delays in registering, so Arturo had to manually register most clients.
Arturo tells me that in the future, REFB will be decreasing its canned goods supplies and increasing its fresh produce.
The St Pat giveaway is going well. About 1/2 of what we set out was "repurposed" tonight! We've done this twice, but still have items to donate!
June 12 is our next distribution. Scheduled volunteers are Pam/Larry, Carolyn, Ned and Ron. I will be attending my home church's 100th birthday in Texas! Ron will open and close.

Robin Williams in License to Wed (2007)
The following is an insight on why so many adults have chosen the Episcopal Church. You might like to share it with one who is a searcher and could find a home in the Episcopal Church.
- Worship that brings you in, instead of putting you on the sidelines.
- A theology that demands our intelligence rather than ignoring it.
- A willingness not only to tolerate, but also to celebrate differences.
- A heritage that takes the Bible very seriously but is not bound by literalism.
- A strong sense of community in which our consensus is in Christ, not a conformity of opinion.
- A devotion to the Biblical Sacraments instituted by Jesus, which evoke awe and mystery instead of factual explanation.
- A sense of ministry that is rightfully the obligation of every baptized person.
- An insistence upon morality (what is good and loving) and an avoidance of moralism (salvation by code and not by Christ).
- The heritage of Apostolic faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in the Apostolic order given to the church by Him.

Our Dunbar cello players and other young musicians gave a wonderful concert at El Verano School on May 11. It was wonderful to support and cheer on our young Dunbar musicians!
In the future, our Dunbar children will be attending other schools in the district but will continue with ViVO after school! So, we will continue to support that “Music changes lives” through learning to play an instrument and join an orchestra not only with the children who attended Dunbar but we will support additional underserved children in our area.

Klara Crean and Michael Fesckes
ViVO's Leaders

Thank you for all your continued support during this difficult time for our Dunbar children. The district may close Dunbar School but BBC-Schools continues to make a difference in the lives of the children in our area! And a special thank you to Stephanie Chapralis, Dennis McCaffrey, Eleanor Albon, Laurie
Hogen, & Russ Engel for attending the concert earlier this month.

LIVING SACRAMENTALLY: AN EASTERTIDE LEARNING OPPORTUNITY |
|
Are you interested in reflecting on the meaning of your baptism for the questions, challenges, and opportunities you face in daily life? During Easter Season (also known as the Great Fifty Days), Phina Borgeson and Paul Mallatt will be offering an online, Zoom-based course called “Living Sacramentally.” All in our Russian River Deanery are invited to explore what it means to live into our baptisms, and meet the questions, challenges and opportunities to live faithfully in our daily lives. Five sessions will each be focused on a sign of baptism: water, oil, name, new clothes, light. A short reflection from one of the facilitators and a key text from scripture or the Book of Common Prayer will lead into open dialogue among those who participate. Newly baptized adults and older teens, as well as parents and godparents of newly baptized children and infants, are especially encouraged to participate, but all are welcome. Eastertide is a traditional time for Christians to reflect on living sacramentally; as part of the catechumenal process it is called “mystagogy.”
Meetings will be Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Pacific, beginning April 18 for five weeks. Paul Mallatt (paulyfa@me.com) and Phina Borgeson (phinaborgeson@gmail.com) will be facilitating. Contact either of them with questions or to receive the Zoom link.
