It's feeling like it's getting closer to Summer!!

Woohoo!!! These last couple of weeks have finally felt like we are getting some decent weather and stepping towards Summer! We've had the bikes out, gone for some great walks and just played in the garden - it's been wonderful!

Onto half term; we have the final week of WordFest, lots of free events going on, perfect days out and of course it's all rounded up in our May half term pages on the website - click here

I hope you have a wonderful half term with your family xx

Join us for a Magnificent May half term with Wakefield Museums and Castles!

It’s Marvellous Minibeasts Week at Pontefract Castle, and we need your help to count the creepy crawlies that call the Castle their home. Free spotters sheets are available all week. There’s also a chance to meet some wiggly worms in Meet the Little Rotters!

We’re seeing out WordFest at Wakefield Museum with wonderful storytelling and illustration workshops led by artist Tom Bailey and Runaway Letters for your littlest ones.

At Pontefract Museum, join us for Let’s Take Some Photos! on Thursday 1 June, and bring your budding photographers to be inspired by pics from Pontefract’s past.

What stories can a statue tell? We’ll find out at Castleford Museum on Tuesday 30 May, Thursday 1 June and Friday 2 June, discovering the stories behind our wonderful Roman statues and making our own tall tales. As always, the Friday session is dedicated to SEND families with a more relaxed atmosphere and additional sensory activities.

We’ll see you there!
