The Deviled Egg Went Down to Georgia

He was looking for a mouth to fill. He was in a tray at the soirée and he was wiling to make a deal. If you'd care to take a dare, we'll make a bet with you — that deviled egg season is the only time it's socially acceptable to eat half a dozen yolks in one sitting. Insert fiddle solo.

RUN BOYS RUN, PAPRIKA IS WHAT MAKES IT FUN

Say Yes To The Dress

Locally! Shiloh Court Bridal & Formal is opening soon in downtown Southern Pines. "Moore County has the florists, the venues, the caterers. I feel like this was the one missing piece to make it a full wedding destination," says owner Morgan Tully. "This is my dream."

Morgan began writing a business plan back in college, which she held onto until the day she got to say "I do" to her own shop.

The bridal side will feature designers Madi Lane, Martina Liana and Stella York. There will also be a selection of formal dresses from Jovani, geared toward the mother of the bride or groom and military balls. There are multiple fitting areas and a "showcase" room with a large mirror and plenty of space to see if a dress passes the dance test.

"I want people to come here for a good experience," says Morgan. "Important core memories are going to be made here."

  • Shiloh Court is located at 200 North Bennett St. It opens June 17, but you can book appointments now online or at (910) 638-8957.

Bake it Happen

Looking to open your own Hallmark-worthy shop? You may be in luck: C.Cups is now franchising. Owner Janell Canino says she's had a lot of requests to open more locations over the years, especially from military spouses moving to different areas. "I quickly realized it would be tough to manage all of those places by myself so franchising seemed like the best option to spread C.Cups joy," she says.

Janell expects to be finished with the process by July and is already lining up candidates and locations. She says she is also looking to sell the Pinehurst location as a franchise so she has more time to help get other locations started.
