Dear friends,
This Sunday we celebrate the feast of Pentecost commemorating when God sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within us and among us. Pentecost is appropriately one of the Sundays that the Book of Common Prayer sets aside for baptisms, and so we will also reaffirm our baptismal vows together on Sunday. One of those vows asks us if we will "seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbor as ourselves?" This past Monday two churches in the border town of Douglas, Arizona were burned to the ground by an arsonist. Both of these churches were living out their baptismal ministry by loving their neighbors, in this case refugees crossing the southern border. Law enforcement believes this is the reason both churches were targeted. You can read more about this incident here. This story made me wonder how much we are willing to sacrifice to be the hands and feet of Jesus. For the next 3 weeks we will be taking up a collection for help St. Stephen's rebuild. If you would like to contribute to this fund please either click here to make a donation online (be sure to select "St. Stephen's Fund" in the dropdown box for "Fund," or place a check in the offering plate on Sunday and be sure to write "St. Stephen's Fund" in the memo line. Please keep the people and ministry of St. Stephen's in your prayers.
Grace and peace,
Fr. Jeremy

Volunteers Needed!
Have you ever dreamed of producing an hour long program? If so, here is your chance! Our new livestreaming equipment is installed and now we are looking for a team of Digital Missioners who will broadcast our worship to those who are unable to attend in person. This is a major ministry for the post-pandemic church. People are now accustomed to visiting churches virtually before they attend in person. It may sound complicated, but it really isn't and we will teach you everything you need to know. If you are interested, please contact Marty Nutley or Sean Diller.
We are hosting a training session
this Saturday, May 27th at 9:30 a.m.
Please feel free to join the group.
