For those looking to start their journey on the Shambhala Training path, we hope you will consider joining us in June for our upcoming Meditation in Everyday Life course, a five-week, online course beginning on Wednesday, June 21 at 7pm. This course is the first course in the Shambhala Training path and is open to all, no prerequisites required. Click here to learn more and register.

Joy in Everyday Life (Online)

Five-Week Course Beginning Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 7pm Eastern

This five-week course shows us that, while the challenges of our cycles are always arising, when we fortify ourselves with simple enjoyment of ourselves, others, and the world around us, our lives take on a refreshing, ordinary joyfulness.

Joy in Everyday Life is the third course in the Everyday Life series. Prerequisite: Contentment in Everyday Life or permission of instructor

Shambhala Sunday with Racial Justice & Dharma (In-Person)

Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 1pm Eastern

Open to meditators of all experience levels, Shambhala Sundays offer us a chance to practice and study together, meet and connect with other members of our community and refresh our sense of well-being, goodness, and sanity.

This afternoon's talk is titled "Taking Our Seat: Exploring Engaged Buddhism" and will be led by Joy Gutierrez and Alison Pepper. Joy and Alison are both co-facilitators of Racial Justice and Dharma. They will lead us in meditation, embodied practices, and conversation that will allow us an opportunity to explore what Engaged Buddhism means to us, individually and collectively.  Beginners to meditation practice and anti-racist work are all welcome.

Meditation in Everyday Life (Online)
Five-Week Course Beginning Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 7pm Eastern

While meditation has many proven benefits, it is important to establish a consistent personal practice. This five-part course is designed to help new meditators learn the basics of mindfulness meditation practice and how to bring its benefits into their daily lives. It is also helpful for more experienced meditators in stabilizing and deepening their practice and daily discipline. By combining technique and view in a setting of support and community, Meditation In Everyday Life provides you with all the tools you need to establish a strong meditation practice. Open to all.

Save the Date: Midsummer Picnic in Central Park (In Person)

We invite you to save the date for a summer outdoor gathering in Central Park with the Shambhala community! We are very excited about offering an outdoor gathering in Central Park this summer, it will be a great way to spend time with our Shambhala community and soak up the sunshine.

Volunteer Opportunities at SMCNY (Online or In-Person)


We are currently seeking volunteers to help staff and coordinate upcoming programs - online and/or in-person.  Opportunities include in-person Shambhala Sundays, virtual Shambhala Training weekend programs and in-person or virtual "In Everyday Life" evening classes. The benefits of volunteering include having the opportunity to take or re-take a program for free, and to get to know our teachers and our community on a deeper level. If you are interested in volunteering to assist with an upcoming program, please fill out this brief survey to indicate your availability. Shambhala Sun Camp (In-Person)
Sunday, July 23 - Sunday, July 30, 2023

Location:
In Person at the Shambhala Mountain Center
151 Shambhala Way
Red Feather Lakes, Colorado

Sun Camp is an outdoor, sleep-away summer camp for children ages 10-16. Campers sleep in tents and enjoy the simple experience of waking up every day to their own world. Sun Camp is a place to have fun, make friends and learn to take responsibility for oneself and one’s world in a gentle and playful environment.

Camp consists of three interconnected programs: Sun Camp: the main week-long program, for ages 10-16. Cadet Command Workshop (CCW): a leadership training intensive for returning participants age 14-16 that starts three days before camp and continues throughout Sun Camp. Rites of Warriorship (ROW): a rites of passage program for 16 year-olds, for the two days following camp.
