Hello again to all square dance callers, square dancers, round dance leaders and round dancers everywhere. Thank you in advance for letting us be a part of your email. I hope you had a good time with your friends and family on the Memorial day weekend. In most parts of our country it's the beginning of summer, and I know you are ready for long days, lots of sun shine, and vacation time. Then there is the 4th of July and we celebrate our independence from the king by shooting off fire works. All of this sounds great and it is. However, September will be here before you can count to ten and then we can begin square dance classes, YEA. All the above is so exciting, however, let's live in the moment and listen to music.

DON SINGS FROM THE HEART CD
Several years ago I recorded this album at Circle Left Studios located in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Spring Hill, TN is a town just outside of Nashville so the studio gets the best pickers to work for them. There are 22 tracks on the CD.
I sang on the first 11 tracks and the other 11 tracks are for karaoke use. I use the karaoke at party dances and between tips at my dances. This music can be bought right from the Coyote-TNT web site by clicking onto the Don Coy CD button, or from Amazon and iTunes. You can also get the CD directly from me. DON'S COMMENT
My how time flies! I am sure you have heard this cliché a million times! CALLERLAB just presented me with my fifty years of calling certificate. It’s been an interesting ride. It seems like only yesterday that my best friend, and a best friend of our activity, the late Tom Dillendar, handed me my twenty five year CALLERLAB certificate.
My square dance calling has taken me to 49 of the fifty states and all of the Canadian provinces. I began calling at the height of square dancing. In those days of my early calling, we would have forty thousand dancers at a convention. There would be over three thousand dancers at our Kentucky festival. Those were the glory days. However, we should not look back. Let’s face the future with optimism. We have so many great men and women caller leaders in both CALLERLAB and the American Callers Association and they can lead us to a bright future.
I am so blessed and happy that Square Dance calling came into my life in 1973 and if I had it to do all over again, I would do it with you.

We often talk about the calls and the music of square dancing but forget about how we create friendly social interactions. Mike points out the work CALLERLAB has done in this area. The 72nd NSDC will be held in Mobile, Alabama, June 21-24 in 2023.
The 73rd NSDC will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, June 26-29, 2024
