Sailing Development Program gets the green light!
At last night's Board meeting, support and approval was given to the Sailing Development Program, including the purchase of six RS21 Yachts. The program will be implemented at RGYC from July 2023. This represents a significant moment in the club's history, with the focus on the growth of sailing at RGYC and in the Greater Geelong region.
This initiative is aimed at delivering world class sailing programs, from learn to sail courses as part of our Discover Sailing Centre, to advanced sailing and racing skills, community programs, corporate events and high performance squads. The Sailing Development Program will represent a major growth opportunity for existing and new members and engagement with the Geelong community, new career opportunities for instructors, coaches and administrators. The programs will bring RGYC in-line with other world leading programs such as the CYCA Youth Sailing Academy and RPAYC Youth Development Program.
We have already received a tremendous amount of support from sponsors and members to date. We are now seeking final funding to meet our goal of taking delivery of the six RS21's by mid-July 2023. We are calling on all members to consider how they could financially support this fantastic initiative. All of our start up partners will be recognised as part of this proud moment in the clubs history.
Tax-deductible donations are available through the RGYC Foundation & Australian Sports Foundation via the link below.
If you are interested in supporting the program as a corporate or program sponsor, please contact the club.

Italian night, fundraising for the Cadets: a roaring success!
40 lucky members enjoyed a nice meal last Saturday organised to raise funds to support our cadets attending the world Championship in Belgium in July.
Thank you to all the sponsors: European Affairs and The Learning Professionals for their donations, Caruggi Italian Restaurant for providing hand made tagliatelle, The Fresh Food Merchant for donating the bulk of the ingredients and Chris Graham who kindly entertained us all with his great music.
With the cadets doing an excellent job serving the guests, mums in the kitchen and at the bar and numerous other volunteers, including our cooks Laura and GP, the night could not have been more enjoyable.
Thank you to everyone for their massive effort!
