Last Staff Appreciation Luncheon of the School Year

Wow! Where did this school year go? It's time to prepare for the last EMS staff appreciation luncheon of the year, on Tuesday, June 13. We would love your help with the items in the list below:

Please drop off items at the front office by 10 am on June 13. Also, please consider donating your time for setup and cleanup—it's always needed and appreciated.

Thank you very much! This event wouldn't be possible without your help. We hope you have a wonderful and safe summer break!

• Our talented Evergreen bands, choir, orchestra and jazz band will be performing throughout the evening starting at 6:30 pm in the gym.
• Student work from elective classes—including artwork, woodworking pieces and more—will be on display in the Commons starting at 6 pm.
• Come check out displays and demos from our PTSA enrichment clubs—award-winning robots, challenging chess matches and more—also starting at 6 pm in the Commons.
• Incoming Eagles can: tour the school; meet our principal, teachers and PTSA leaders; and learn more about how to have a smooth transition into their new middle school at "EMS 101."
• Enjoy delicious dinner and dessert for purchase from our on-site food trucks.

Krispy Kreme Fundraiser for EMS PTSA

Order some delicious Krispy Kreme doughnuts while supporting our PTSA and saving travel time and gas money!

→ One dozen doughnuts cost $16, with $9 going to our PTSA!

Orders placed now will be ready for pickup at Evergreen during our June 13 Open House between 6 and 8 pm only.

EMS PTSA Is Seeking 2023-24 Club Chairs

The following enrichment clubs have vacancies for volunteer chairs for the '23–'24 school year:

• Reflections program chair
• Coding Club chair

If you are interested or curious about volunteering to lead our children in these clubs, please email enrichment@evergreenptsa.org. Please also don’t hesitate to join our team and start a new club if you have other interests that aren't currently offered at EMS. Remember, together, we can achieve so much more!

EMS 101: For Incoming 6th Graders & New Students for the '23-'24 School Year

At the EMS Open House on June 13, teachers and students will host 20-minute presentations covering the topics below:

• Student experiences at EMS
• EMS teacher-parent communication
• Available clubs and sports

• 6:30 pm (Rooms 107 or 122)
• 7:00 pm (Rooms 107 or 122; Room 108 for Spanish-speakers)
• 7:30 pm (Rooms 107 or 122)

Eastlake Volleyball Youth Camp: July 6–8

The Eastlake Volleyball Boosters Club will be hosting a Volleyball Youth Camp for incoming 3rd through 8th graders from July 6 to 8. For more information, please go to eastlakevolleyball.net.

Free Virtual Screening of 'Screenagers: Next Chapter'

Now through June 4, Lake Washington Schools Foundation invites you to watch Screenagers: Next Chapter — Uncovering Skills for Stress Resilience, from the comfort of your home. This film examines the science behind teens' emotional challenges, the interplay of social media, and what we can do to help them build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety and depression in our digital age.

Kids Coming Together Events

Kids Coming Together community service events are great opportunities for children grades 3–8 to meet new friends and connect with their community.

• June 19: Trash Scavenger Hunt at Lake Sammamish State Park
• June 28: Painting Kindness Rocks
