Attention: SIMC’s Plans for 2023‑24


Hi everyone,


Summer is coming along, and we hope you all have fun stuff to look forward to! Meanwhile, we at SIMC would like to announce several exciting plans for the coming school year. Last year, we ran several mock contests like the SIMC 8/10 and Mock Mathcounts, as well as our magazine The Circle and PUMAC/HMMT teams. For the 2023-24 school year, we will continue these projects, but we are also adding:

  1. A mock AIME, which we are dutifully naming the SIME

  2. A team puzzle hunt/guts round, approachable for all ages and grade levels

  3. More regular Problems Of The Week

  4. Panels run by our student leaders offering advice on all aspects of math and life

  5. Regular social events on our Discord server

  6. More Circle articles, with a greater focus on approachability and readability

  7. Sending teams to new collegiate competitions (potentially SMT, BMT, and CMIMC!)

  8. Merch and other goodies for team members and event participants/winners
