New Partner Properties We Celebrated during Affordable Housing Month :
Page Street Studios, San Jose
Light Tree Apartments, East Palo Alto
Firehouse Square, Belmont
Wilton Court, Palo Alto
At Partner Properties, the developer and property management company create integrated community housing for people with developmental and other disabilities while implementing their normal business models by adding a preference in some of the units for people with developmental and other disabilities who benefit from on-site supportive services provided by Housing Choices team of Resident Coordinators.
Our Partner Property model represents a commitment to the individual resident’s control over their housing, which is unaffected by a change in supportive service providers. This segregation of housing rights and service rights promotes true independence and autonomy for people with developmental and other disabilities.

Housing Choices client and Firehouse Square resident, Ishmael Meredith, highlighted the dishwasher as one of the standout features in his new studio. "I kid you not, I wash everything and then I just let the dishwasher rinse everything up," he expressed.

On May 13, our community united at "Tenants Belong", where passionate advocates shared their inspiring tenant stories, answered vital questions about eviction and tenant protections, and empowered everyone to participate in shaping the laws that safeguard our homes.
Missed it? Don't Worry! There is still time to support tenant protections and advocate to policy makers for the importance of inclusionary tenant initiatives.

The Bay Area is updating its Housing Elements, and we must seize this opportunity to demand bold solutions that meet our community's needs.
Here's what you can petition San Mateo County to do:
- Rezone parts of unincorporated county to increase housing options.
- Protect tenants with better eviction safeguards and increased relocation support.
- Develop programs to create more housing for people with disabilities, farmworkers, large families, and those with low incomes.
Use the button above to learn more and sign the petition now!
Let's show our county officials that we're united for affordable homes and tenant protections.

Protect San Jose's Affordable Housing Funds | Monday, June 12, 6pm

The City of San Jose's City Council will hold a hearing on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 6:00 PM to discuss the city's budget changes. One proposed change is cutting over $50 million in funding for affordable housing. Measure E, approved by voters in 2020, imposed a Real Property Transfer Tax on homes sold for over $2 million. The funds generated were intended for general city services and affordable housing initiatives. However, the current proposal suggests diverting the money to construct temporary Emergency Interim Shelters for the homeless, eliminating funding for permanent affordable housing and creating long-term financial burdens for the city.
San Jose's housing crisis is pervasive, and relying solely on interim shelters is not a sustainable solution. The majority of individuals leaving interim shelters move into subsidized permanent affordable and supportive housing, which would be affected by the proposed defunding. This decision risks undermining future affordable housing production and exacerbating the challenges faced by seniors, veterans, disabled individuals, low-income families, and the homeless population in the city.
Let the City Council know you oppose their plans to cut funding for affordable housing!
