Dear Weekly Insider,
Since you are important to us, we would like to extend a personal invitation to you to join us for an exciting new series and to offer you a cup of coffee.
For the last couple of years, we’ve been dreaming about re-launching live events at The Press Club in our sunny Seaside headquarters, now home to the Creperie Cafe. Starting on Thursday, June 1, we’ll be back with a new series called Mic’d Up at The Press Club.
We hope you can join us for this opportunity to meet Weekly staff and engage in a discussion with some of the people featured in the Monterey County Weekly and Monterey County NOW, and also enjoy a cup of coffee or tea on us.*
To kick off the series, staff writer Agata Popęda will interview screenwriter James Patrick Dillon about Austrian psychiatrist, Nazi camp survivor and author Viktor Frankl. Dillon has written an award-winning script on Frankl.
Join us from 12:30-1:30pm Thursday, June 1 in The Creperie Cafe at The Press Club, 1123 Fremont Blvd., Seaside.
Next up in the Mic’d Up at The Press Club series:
Thursday, July 6: Writer Ava Homa on foreign policy in fiction
Thursday, Aug. 3: Director Tom Parks on movies v. theater
Thursday, Sept. 7: Violinist Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu (she’s bringing her instrument) about her adventures around the world
Thank you for your readership and your support, and we look forward to meeting you!
