Join us on June 7: Centering Community in Museums, Libraries, and Archives
You’re invited Wednesday, June 7, as Clint Fluker, incoming senior director of culture, community and partner engagement for the Carlos Museum and Emory Libraries, and Mike Murawski, consultant and author of “Museums as Agents of Change,” discuss the role of libraries and museums within their wider communities, how to begin reshaping what institutions value, and what it means to have a human-centered approach.
“Centering Community in Museums, Libraries, and Archives” will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Ackerman Hall at the Carlos. It is open to the public at no charge, but registration is required – choose either the in-person or virtual option at the link below. The event is co-sponsored by Emory Libraries and the Carlos Museum.
Rosalyn Metz appointed chief technology officer for
Emory Libraries and Carlos Museum
Please join us in congratulating Rosalyn Metz, associate university librarian, Library Technology and Digital Strategies for Emory Libraries, who will assume the inaugural role of chief technology officer, libraries and museum and associate university librarian for digital strategies effective June 1, 2023.
In her new position, she will be in charge of developing a plan for how technology will be used in the Libraries and the Carlos Museum both now and in the future. This plan will consider what users need and will be aligned with the overall strategy of the combined organization and of the university.
May is both Jewish American Heritage Month and Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and Emory Libraries has plenty of resources to help students, faculty, and staff learn more about the contributions these communities have made to America. Our librarians wrote these blogs outlining those resources, many of which can be accessed online.
