Rocket Raffle
The Rocket Raffle is upon us and the raffle tickets were sent home with your youngest or only child. Please make sure to check their backpacks. This is the second and last opportunity to meet your familles fundraising requirement of $500.

Welcome to the Rockets Team!
We are excited to welcome our newest staff member, Maddie Buhl. Maddie will be joining us as a second grade teacher next school year!
Hi! My name is Maddie Buhl. I grew up in Connecticut and went to Miami of Ohio, where I got my Early Childhood Education degree. For the past few years I have been teaching both Kindergarten and 1st grade in CPS. I have my masters in Literacy Leadership and I am very excited about 2nd grade this coming year! I live in Lincoln Park and absolutely love Annette’s ice cream. I am looking forward to joining the AACA school community!

Athletics Update
Congratulations to our 5th grade girls gold volleyball team as they came in 2nd place! Good luck to our 7th & 8th grade girls and 6th through 8th grade boys as they compete in playoffs this upcoming week!
In addition, congratulations to our track team as we have a few student-athletes who will compete in the State meet this Saturday. Good luck to the following student-athletes competing in their events:

John Glotzbach (7th) - high jump. shot put, and 4x100m relay

Arts Together
Details for Celebration and Bake Sale

We are looking forward to seeing AACA families at our upcoming Arts Together Event- our celebration of all things art at AACA! The evening offers performances, artwork, examples of teacher’s art integrated lessons, a bake sale- and a chance to celebrate the end of the year with friends and teachers.

Variety Show
The last day of school is just around the corner- which means it’s almost time for our annual Variety Show! We’re looking for students in grades 3 and up to grace the main stage of the Athenaeum Center for Arts and Culture with song and dance performances. Olive Black Giveback
During this upcoming week, Olive Black located at 3032 N. Lincoln Ave. will be giving back 20% of sales to AACA when you mention "AACA" or "Alphonsus". In addition, on Thursday, May 18th, they will be having a pasta dinner for families. Another 20% of sales will be coming back to AACA and will be donated to the Faculty Fund. Saints and Scholars!
Last week, the Office of Catholic Schools held a donor event titled, Saints and Scholars. AACA was fortunate enough to be chosen and represented at the event. Both our 8th grade, Gifts of the Holy Spirit project, and our 4th-8th grade mosaic project were featured. Our students' talents were showcased for the whole Office of Catholic Schools and their guests to see. It was a great honor that they should all be proud of!
