LOCAL/POLICE ENFORCEMENT:  Minnesota law enforcement has concluded a month-long distracted driving enforcement campaign aimed at educating drivers and stopping dangerous behavior. 3,427 drivers were cited for violations of the hands-free driving law during April. 
Plan to hit the road this summer? Construction is back on Interstate 94 in the east metro. Expect delays and fewer lanes from Century Avenue to the St. Croix River. Give yourself more time to arrive safely. Check for traffic alerts on 511mn.org.

BUSINESS/ECONOMY: Hispanic businesses in the country obtained revenues of 77.7 billion dollars in 2022, an increase of 23.3% over the previous year despite the pandemic, inflation and an imminent recession, indicated the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in a report released.

POLICE/IMMIGRATION:  US Border Patrol agents assigned to the Grand Forks Sector, along with the Kittson County Sheriff's Office, stopped a human smuggling attempt near Caribou, Minnesota, on May 11.
