AVANT - Practice Manager Educational Morning - Shellharbour

Delayed Diagnosis…why it matters
Avant ‘claims’ data, indicates that 1 in 5 claims were primarily about diagnosis, and 75% of those claims related to missed or delayed diagnoses. Let that sink in…. 75%!
For many reasons, one of the biggest challenges we face since the pandemic is patient follow-up and tracking.

This session presents case studies and examines our responsibilities and where things went wrong.
Learn:

  • Some causes of delayed diagnosis claims.
  • The serious consequences of a claim and what the regulatory bodies want to see.
  • How a good system will protect you.

Privacy, let’s take a look
Sometimes we become so comfortable and familiar in our environment and with our clients, that we forget the importance and possible impact of ensuring privacy.
A medical practice receives requests for information from many sources, we don’t often think about the potential for privacy breach when fulfilling the request.

Learn

  • The serious impact of a privacy breach on the practice.
  • What to consider before releasing any information.
  • Simple strategies to protect the patient and the practice.
