Hi Friend-
On this roller coaster ride of weather, we're going to come out on top this Tuesday. Take a stroll through the warm and sunny plaza gathering your weekly farm goodies, spices, body lotions, ceramics and jewelry while sipping on an agua fresca.
Joining our incredible lineup of vendors this week are Easthampton Cider Project, Kitchen Wizardry spices and tisanes, Abby Berkson ceramics, and JDB jewelry. And Beyond Happiness makes a return appearance with natural body care products.
You'll want to plan to buy lunch from one of our prepared food vendors and sit down to enjoy it during an afternoon of a cappella brought to us by not one, but three(!) of the Smith College a cappella groups.
This is truly a market not to be missed. See you there!

We had so much fun last Saturday as hundreds of people of all ages gathered on the plaza to help paint a hundred foot mural that will go up on the E. J. Gare Garage along the Tuesday Market plaza in June. Grow Food Northampton provided healthy snacks in the form of crudité from area farms with dressings from Masa Mexicano and Song Sparrow Farm and hummus from Holyoke Hummus. The project was lead by muralist Sharon Leshner of Sharona Color.
Stay tuned for an unveiling and dedication at the June 20th market!

The Smiffenpoofs:
Formed in 1936 at Smith College, the Smiffenpoofs are the oldest historically all-female collegiate a cappella group in the United States. After a group of Smithies attended a Yale picnic where the Whiffenpoofs performed, they were so impressed by the Whiffs' camaraderie and musicality that they decided to form the Smiffenpoofs, modeling it after the Whiffs and adopting a similar name in their honor. Today, the Smiffenpoofs (affectionately known as "The Poofs") continue the a cappella tradition, maintaining a repertoire of old favorites and contemporary hits alike. As you could imagine, the Smiffenpoofs have seen numerous changes since 1936, but the aim of the group's founders remains intact - to sing with love and to become an integral part of the history and life of Smith College.

The Smithereens:
The Smithereens originated in 1945 as the Albright Quartet, becoming the 4th traditionally all-female a cappella group in the country. Since then, we have expanded our group and built a diverse repertoire of music that ranges from classic traditionals to contemporary favorites. We are a versatile, talented bunch who focus on balancing musicality, fun, professionalism, as well as vocal percussion.

Groove
ONCE UPON A TIME...
Some singing Smithies defected from existing a cappella groups to move to a land called Groove. They wanted to create a group that would allow them to sing Mozart with a full orchestra one weekend and de-stress by singing the Beatles on another.
And so, in the fall of 2001, Groove A Cappella was born.
