Every Friday regardless of whether there is school, from 1:30-2:30pm, the Groceries 4 Grout volunteers offer free groceries. The shopping-style pantry lets you choose from a variety of available items, often lots of fresh produce, canned goods, meat & dairy as they're available. The tables are set up just behind Grout School at 3119 SE Holgate Blvd. To learn more, email Groceries4Grout.
Join your neighbors for trivia night at Mano Oculta, 1420 SE Powell Blvd, at 6:30pm on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Host duties have rotated, and your prior hosts are excited to see what they come up with!

The next Brooklyn Action Corps General Meeting is Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 7pm. The meeting will be held in-person at the Sacred Heart Villa, 3925 SE Milwaukie Ave. Portland, OR 97202, and virtually as a Zoom meeting.

The second river outing by the Brooklyn Paddlers was last Thursday, May 11, 2023. We found a momma and poppa beaver. I took pictures of the equipment in the lagoon and told Abandoned America about them. They agreed it's cool!
We'll have another early morning outing this Thursday, May 18.
We're also going out in the evening, this Monday, May 22, 2023.
If you are interested in joining a Brooklyn-based group that will make regular outings to paddle on the river and take action to restore the neighborhood's river access, please email us!

If you are interested in working on making the railroad crossing at SE Milwaukie Avenue and Gideon Street more functional for our neighborhood and can make the time commitment, currently an hour or two a week, please contact the board.
