Dear Threshold,

Elizabeth and I cannot thank you enough for your graciousness during our time serving you. You have blessed us immeasurably, been unfailingly loving, and are sending us into our future on a truly high note! Thank you from the depths of our hearts. We look forward to seeing you next Sunday, May 21, our final Sunday at Threshold. As you prepare for the service please mull over this one little word found throughout the Scripture — AMEN!  While it is not the first word of the Bible, it is essentially the last or final word, encompassing in its brevity the manifold promises of God springing from the character of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Next Sunday we will enjoy the beauty of this highly significant biblical word.

See you Sunday!

Much love in Christ,
Pastor Dori

The Story Devotions

Is your faith fire proof? Is your obedience enough to shut a lion’s mouth? Is your witness enough to turn hearts toward God? Click here to read how in Chapter 18 “Daniel in Exile,” Daniel’s faith never wavered and he was able to bear witness for the glory of God for the good of the world.
Prayer Team Meeting

The Prayer Team meets every Sunday from 9:00-9:30 in the nursery. They welcome anyone who is interested in joining them in a time of prayer for Threshold.
This will be our fifth week using the excellent work of the Vision Team to focus our times of prayer. We will focus on the Value of Share Christ through outreach. “We believe that sharing the good news of the Gospel in word and deed is a fundamental part of the Christian faith. We passionately desire to get others in front of Jesus to experience the hope of salvation.”

All of us agree with the above statement that we should be living out our faith in our family, school, workplace, church and wherever else the Lord places us. However we cannot do this in our own strength.  Before any of us endeavor to live out our faith in front of others we need to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. This empowering in part happens as we fellowship with God through the study of the scriptures and through prayer both individually and corporately.

Today’s focus verse is Acts 1:8: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

This week meditate on this verse on a daily basis. Ask God to empower you, and every person that calls Threshold Church home, that we might all be Spirit-filled witnesses and ambassadors of the love of Christ to a dying world. Pray for Pastor Dori and Elizabeth as they prepare to make their transition to Michigan and pray for Pastor Gabe and Jan as they prepare to begin their work at Threshold Church. Look for opportunities this week to show the love of Christ to everyone that you encounter.

Amen
