I think fun and fellowship are underrated spiritual disciplines.

God designed us to be in community, to rest, and to play. Too often we get sucked up in the busyness and in the feeling that we need to always be productive. But, as Ecclesiastes says there is a season for everything, including time for joy and fun and rest. Midwesterners know this as we have just a few months of warmth and sunshine, and that is a season to take advantage of.

I'm feeling the pull as a church community to embrace fun and fellowship this summer. After some difficult years, I think the season is ripe for it! So this summer at Fusion we're going to prioritize fun and fellowship and rest, the underrated spiritual disciplines. 

We're planning weekly pickleball as a space to play and connect. (And even if you can't play, like myself, still come out to the courts for snacks and community). We're also planning some family fun nights that are for everyone throughout the summer. We'll also orient our sermon series for the summer around some of these ideas of fun and fellowship and rest.
