OGP’s 2023-2028 strategy is now available. With over 1,000 contributions, the open government community helped to identify emerging strategic directions. Following the draft strategy and public-comment period, feedback across these stages is now reflected in this final version.

Less than one week to register for the 2023 OGP Global Summit
There is only less than one week to register for this year’s OGP Global Summit taking place in Estonia on September 6-7. Registrations close on May 28, 2023.  Register now

Thank you for shaping the OGP Global Summit agenda with us! 
Members of the open government community shared their feedback on the preliminary program for the Summit. This included comments on sessions, missing topics,  suggested examples, contributors, and speakers. The Support Unit and Summit Advisory Board will now review the feedback provided to refine the program.

🇦🇷 Buenos Aires, Argentina, held the second meeting of the OGP Local Circle on Climate Action and presented the Declaration of Buenos Aires with the other signing cities. Watch a summary of Buenos Aires’ Open Gov Week activities.

🇨🇴 Bogotá, Colombia, shared lessons learned and challenges from their action plan as part of their agenda for the Open Gov Week. 

🇦🇲 Yerevan, Armenia, organized a flash mob to encourage citizens to participate in public discussions, express their opinions, make proposals, and be informed. 

🇸🇰 Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, held a conference to discuss how to involve citizens in the design and implementation of territorial strategies in the context of EU cohesion policy. 

🇲🇦 Beni Mellal Khenifra Region, Morocco, presented the results of public consultations focused on women, young people, people with special needs, the private sector, and cooperative rural organizations.

🇺🇦 The Council of Europe and the Association of Ukrainian Cities organized the Open Government Week Marathon, where Ukrainian local authorities presented good practices in open government on themes like youth participation for sustainable recovery and non-discriminatory practices applied at the local level through the facilitation of civic hubs.

Steering Committee Updates

The public consultation of 2023 Civil Society candidates for the OGP Steering Committee has ended.

The results of the shortlist will be public during the week of June 19. Read more on the selection process of Civil Society members to the Steering Committee here.

World of Open Gov

- OGP accompanied The Transparency Secretariat and the Open State Committee in the National Meeting on challenges and opportunities towards Colombia’s 5th action plan.

- This Open Gov Week, the Independent Reporting Mechanism (IRM) explored some of the most recent findings and results from the latest IRM Results Reports. Hear from reformers as they share best practices, commitments, open budgets, and more.

- OGP Steering Committee Members, government officials, and civil society weighed in during Open Gov Week with insights on the new strategy. Hear from Minister Zangrillo of the Department of Public Administration of Italy, the Executive Director of Accountability Lab, Blair Glencorse, Open Ownership's Director of Policy, Louise Russell-Prywata, and more as they voice their excitement for the future of OGP. 

- Canada’s 2023-2026 Data Strategy for the Federal Public Service is now available. The strategy aims to position the federal public service of Canada to strengthen data-driven results and realize better outcomes for Canadians. Open annual reports on strategy implementation will be made available. 

- Open Ownership is hiring for a (remote) consultancy with experience in Ruby on Rails and Python. Read more about the position here.

- The Open Contracting Partnership has just published its 2022 Annual Report. Read more here

CTAP (co-led by BudgIT, CODE, and Global Integrity) recently published the final report on their transparency and accountability journey, along with two guidance notes on health service delivery advocacy and transnational collaboration.
